I am a fresh graduate of Bachelor of arts in nursing and I am wondering if i could be hired as a medical transcriptionist without prior experience or training in the medical transcriptionist field. I am looking forward on having a job right now to earn money and i am very interested on becoming a medical trasnscriptionist for it is related to the course I have had graduated from.

Codes don’t apply in medical transcription. However, your terminology skills should be very helpful.
Many companies want experience so there’s a catch-22. However, doctors and hospitals may be hiring, and after a time you can work from home as many transcriptionists do.
There’s some excellent information for anyone considering a career in this field in the website listed below. No affiliation with any school or products, just good info, including real job listings in coding, billing, and transcription.
They also have free listings in their directory for transcriptionists.

Sure. Because, with a Bachelors’ Degree in Nsg; you can apply your knowledge and are familiar with all the medical terms that the doctor might use in his dictations.
you would have to know all of the medical codes, which are different. There should be NO problem in you getting a nursing position now…nurses are in demand, there is a shortage.Alot of hospitals will hire you now,and some will even reimburse you school tuition.Don’t get stuck in something your not trained for….
