I am looking to take up medical transcription and I have found a course at my local technical community college that is "reliable". There have been a lot of online scams such as Transam Associates, etc. and I don’t want to put a lot of money in and get nothing out. Does anyone have advice for me to get my career started without spending a lot of money on equipment and software?

I found when I searched that field that there were too many up front cost and there were some scams. It takes up a lot of your free time too. Jennifer
I’m a transcriptionist from home, medical and general. It’s not a job that you have to spend heaps to set up. I am an independent contractor working for several clients. A lot of transcription companies outsource to contractors only. But there are some that take you as a home based employee. Your choice really. There is so much information on this site on the transcription section.
