I have been looking hard at this. just wondering what schools are the best for the money? I’ve come to grips that I am gonna have to go with a better school to find work, but pennies are tight! where did you find grants/financing?

Is being an MT all it’s supposed to be (work at home, make 40K your first year……)? and how long did you go to school (online)? I am hoping to get my certificate in 6 months tops, while working full time. is that feasable? really appreciate some guidance from someone who’s been there done that! thanks!!!

I have been doing transcription at home for about five years now. I have done it for 28 years working inside the hospital. Unfortunately, last year, the hospital laid off all its transcriptions and now I work as a contract which I hate. I feel like I am in prison sometimes, stuck at home. The pay sucks and of course we have absolutely no benefits, no insurance, no vacation, nada. I am not the only one of my coworkers who feels this way. We were wondering what other transcriptionists in the country make and if they have any benefits. I am guessing the company we work for is probably making a lot more than we are.
I do not want to work in healthcare anymore.

I have the potential of making a pretty decent living for myself and my son, except I HATE MY JOB. I am a medical transcriptionist and I make about K/year. I’m 42 years old and I don’t want to spend the rest of my life in school. Do you have any ideas how I can learn to like my job and accept it? I’m considering of trying out this field because I need to be at home for my baby. I heard this field works well for women who need to be at home. I understand this field will not be easy and I do have a degree in another field, so I know college wasn’t entirely easy. I had to work for my degree. Anyway, I did some research and found a website called careerstep.com. They offer online courses and usually it takes 6 or so months to complete the course. So my question is, is this company a good company to purchase their course or are they scamming people?

Iam just looking for a work from these countries that hiring right now or in the near future. Me and my friend are interested to work abroad. We are not really professionals, meaning graduate with a degree, we took our colleges but for 2 years course that is why we are settle for anything that is not for professional work. Apple picker can be or anything but decent. We just want to earn more than we earn here in the Phil. I am taking up my medical transcriptionist course right now.
