In medical transcription, how many lines usually equal 1 page?

At my job I get paid by the line. My friend gets paid a certain dollar amount per page, and I was just wondering if there is an average # of lines that constitute a page.

They usually pay "per page" by 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, etc., from what I understand, so that’s not a great way to average work, either. And, once again, that’s going to be very dictator specific if you’re trying to come up with an equivalent hourly wage. Are they H&Ps? Ops? If they’re no-heading clinic notes, that’s a lot of words on a page.

I like getting paid by the line. It’s more cut/dried. I also have a job that pays by the minute of dictation, and it’s a curse or a blessing, depending on the hem-hawing "change that" dictators or the speed demons.
