Some are, but there are many real opps for medical transcriptionists. BUT, BUT, you will need an education that you have to pay for. Look for legitimate local colleges that offer courses in this. If you don’t have a fairly strong medical background, it will be a challenge, but a VERY possible work from home opp.
There are many good sites for career seekers though where you might find virtual jobs and I am sure you can find them for transcriptionists once you have your training. I am a sales person and one of the products I sell is one of the top career building Web sites in existence. That said, I can tell you that you need to utilize numerous sites. Use the top ones listed in YAHOO and also look for niche sites, AND individual headhunter Web sites. If you are in sales, then http://www.salesladder.com, for techies go to http://www.techcareers.com, and on. Use a few, test some to measure responses, then adjust. Evolve your strategy and don’t stop it because you found a job. Keep yourself on the market.
Focus on building the skill. Hey, if you want earn while you learn, there’s some great sites out there that allow you to get work.
Remember, many companies are outsourcing their day to day administration work.
