Hi everyone and welcome to my site!
My name is Kate Delaney and I'm from Illinois. I created this site to share my story about how I made a mid-life career change that changed my life.
I went from being a high school graduate with a series of low paying jobs, and even some time on unemployment, to becoming a professional with a stable and well-paying career.

No. I know a couple people that used to do medical transcription for a living and had trouble finding enough work. A lot of offices put medical notes right into a lap top computer when they see patients now, thereby greatly reducing the need for transcription services. Transcription is a dying technology. Also, there are computer programs used by both medical and legal offices where a doctor or lawyer can dictate notes into a microphone and the computer types the info in for them. Transcription is so 1960s. Personally, I would do something else.
It is if you can find a doctor or hospital to hire you. Many ads say you can do it from home, however very few doctors will allow their records to go out of their office, so you cannot do it at home.
