Legitimate Entry Level Work From Home Medical Transcription Jobs?

August 1, 2010

I am looking for a legitimate entry level work from home medical transcription job that you don’t have to pay anything to them in order to work for them. I have no formal training in medical transcription, but I have 3 years experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant. I have been training myself for medical transcription with my fiance’s text books and computer software. I have it down now, having transcribed 100s of practice and refreshing my knowledge of , , and Anatomy and Physiology. I have post traumatic stress disorder, so I cannot do what I used to do in nursing homes and sales, so I have been studying and practicing transcription for awhile now so I will be able to work from home. I cannot afford to take the certification test (which I could pass easily). Does anybody know any legitimate work from home medical transcription jobs from home? All the ones I have found, I had to pay upfront costs, which I cannot do. Please Help!!!

Well I’m sorry that you are dealing with the ptsd and hope that you get that under control. I’m not sure that there are too many jobs out there for medical transcriptionists or that there are any legit ‘at-home’ jobs. If any of those ads ask for those upfront costs, it’s basically a scam.

I am sorry to tell you this but most of the transcription companys want some one who has 2 to 5 years experience doing transcription work. I have graduated from an credible college with a transcription certificate and been doing this for almost a year. I have the schooling for transcription work and they wont even hire me.

I know you have said that you don’t want to spend any money on this but have you tried Elance. They always have transcription jobs posted and their subscription fees are very reasonable. Once registered of course you can also bid on jobs that relate to your field of expertise which could be articles, ebooks, reports, etc.

If you are looking for legitimate work from home and are interested in writing then I suggest you check out a new website called Ghostwriting Uncovered.
