Well I’m going to school part time somewhere else but its a bs degree so it’s gonna be a while before I could earn it. I wanna make money before then so I was thinking I’d take this medical transcriptioning course cuz I did it for a summer a while back and liked it. I worked for family though so I don’t know if i got the whole experience or if there are other things I should worry about. They told me I did a good job coming from someone who rarely hands me compliments, but I was hoping I could hear from people who do this job. Are there things I should think about before getting into it or anything I’d do better to be warned about? Really I’m just nervous about paying the money to earn the degree. Also do you find that the work is worth the money you make?

It’s definitely worth it, especially since you can potentially work from home.
I was a medical transcriptionist working from home, and I hired my stepdaughter on while she was in high school (in advanced placement biology etc.) and she did a great job. I’m not suggesting most people can do ths right out of high school.
Many transcriptionists get their training through a course of study while others carry their medical terminology knowledge with them from other health related fields. You would need to get the terminology down, and then get started. Many companies want experience so there’s a catch-22. However, doctors and hospitals may be hiring, and after a time you can work from home as many transcriptionists do.
There’s some excellent information for anyone considering a career in this field in the website listed below. No affiliation with any school or products, just good info, including real job listings in coding, billing, and transcription.

Due to current privacy laws on state books, medical transcription has become a very limited enterprise as an outside-the-medical facility enterprise. If you don’t mind working at medical facilities where you are subjected to areas which are often contaminated and the infrastructure is somewhat unwholesome (due to many sick and coughing patients) walking the corridors, then go for it. A far healthier environment would be as a legal word processor/transcriber.
Good luck!
