I want to get into the medical transcriptionist field, but I don’t know where to ask or start from. Can someone help me find a place that could guide me a bit more?

Look at some of the community colleges that are in your area that offers health sciences. These colleges will generally offer the medical transcription course. It is very rewarding, and very good.

As a medical transcriptionist, your responsible for listening to a dictaphone and then typing in a number of different reports such as autopsy, lab, surgery, discharge, history and physical, pathology, radiology, etc.

You must type accurately, and it can be sometimes hard to hear what doctor’s are saying especially when there is a thick foreign language.

Try googling online colleges for medical trascription. Be prepared to have difficulties with foreign accents, complex medical terms and some disgusting descriptions of patient conditions, even autopsy reports. If this is not a problem, then go for it.
