My advice would be to go to some well known transcription companies (medquist, which is www.medquist.com or Edix – I am not sure of its website). Check and see which medical transcription school they endorse. These two companies have good benefits for working at home, insurance, the whole deal, and I would go with a school that they endorse. I know that on Medquist’s home page, there is a link that says something like "Do you want to become a transcriptionist?" and you click on it & it will give you more info. If you take classes from someplace that isn’t accredited or not considered a very good school, you will just end up wasting your money and have a rough time getting hired by anyone. Good luck to you!
My name is Kate Delaney and I'm from Illinois.
I created this site to share my story about how I made a mid-life career change that changed my life.
I went from being a high school graduate with a series of low paying jobs, and even some time on unemployment, to becoming a professional with a stable and well-paying career.
I found the training, financial aid, and even job placement help all online. Now, I don't have a job; I have a career! I'm a Medical Transcriptionist and I love it! Read my story.
