I’m already enrolled for an associates in health reimbursement. Would getting a MT certificate help also?

I also think that being cross trained in another area is a good idea. Plus, you could always work at home as a medical transcriptionist as a back up if you decide that you want to spend more time at home. You can always work on your medical transcription certificate while you are working on your associates or even once you are employed.

See the 4th paragraph. The sentence that starts with "Candidates seeking a credible education in medical transcription *****".

The acquisition of additional skills/education will give you more options when seeking employment.

Regarding medical transcription certification aamt.org (AHDI) is best in the world. They will issue RMT, CMT etc depending on your test.

Being cross trained is always a good idea. If you know billing and coding, MT is your next best bet. Go for it.
